There are plenty of important things to consider when choosing the right tile for a certain room in your home. Before beginning your hunt for the perfect style, think about how you would like to incorporate tile into a given space, how much money you would like to spend on the tile, and how much tile you will need to buy. Once you’re ready to go shopping, look for a supplier as well as a contractor who will offer you the support you need throughout the design process.
When choosing your tiles, don’t be afraid to use them as fun accent pieces in an otherwise neutral space. For more tips on picking out tiles, we encourage you to watch this video. To set up a design consultation with our tile experts, call Tile Fantastic at (888) 864-6319.

Updating the flooring throughout your home has never been more fun thanks to the many options available. Whether your heart is set on ceramic tile or you’d like to keep things a little more organic with natural stone tile, you’re sure to find a style that will fit your décor and your family’s lifestyle. Here are four popular types of tile and their ideal applications:
Ceramic
If you’re looking for the perfect type of tile to use in your kitchen or bathrooms, then be sure to check out the ceramic models at your local tile distributor. Ceramic tile is durable, long lasting, and highly resistant to common stains that might occur from items like food or cosmetics. Additionally, it won’t harbor germs that grow easily in these damp rooms.
Porcelain
Like ceramic, porcelain tile is a popular choice for homeowners because of its strength and ability to repel stains. One of its more unique attributes, however, is that it can be found in a variety of sizes ranging from small mosaic tile to large panels. It’s another great fit for bathrooms and kitchens, where it can be used on the floor or as backsplash.
Glass
Glass tile can be used to bring color, texture, and that little spark of something extra to a space. They are primarily used in the bathroom to add character to a shower, bathtub, or sink. They’re also a great candidate for those who would like a backsplash that’s more translucent than ceramic or stone.
Natural Stone
If your décor follows a classic, sophisticated theme, then you may want to go with natural stone for your floors, countertops, or backsplash. You can choose from several different natural stone options including marble, travertine, limestone, or slate.
No matter what type of tile you’d like to incorporate into your interior design, you’ll find it here at Tile Fantastic. We carry the finest quality tiles in a variety of unique color options. Call us at (888) 864-6319 to learn more about our products.

Chances are that you’ve heard interior designers, friends, or even your flooring contractor discussing natural stone tile and its many attributes. However, what you may not be familiar with are the major differences that exist between the various types of stone, including limestone and one of its most popular forms, travertine. Here is everything you need to know about travertine:
How It’s Created
Travertine develops in hot springs throughout the world, including right here in the United States. One of the most famous places to encounter slabs of travertine in their natural state is in Yellowstone Park, where scientists have spent decades trying to learn more about how liquids and gases work together to create this beautiful stone.
Common Physical Characteristics
Travertine comes in a variety of colors including shades of green, red, brown, and even warm ivories. Each slab will be marked by either a vein pattern that is apparent, which is referred to as “vein-cut”, or more subtle veining that’s known as “cross-cut” veining. The patterns created by these veins help to give travertine its one-of-a-kind appearance.
It’s Many Applications
This popular stone tile can be used in many rooms throughout the home, including the kitchen, bathroom, entryway, or living room. Since it is a softer, more porous rock, it needs to be carefully finished before it can be used in a shower or as backsplash. It’s natural texture and inability to repel water makes it a poor choice for kitchen or bathroom countertops.
Maintenance Techniques
As was previously noted, travertine is porous and should therefore be treated with caution when cleaning. To keep it looking its best throughout the week, clean it on occasion with a non-harsh, alkaline-based solution and a non-abrasive brush or sponge.

Grout is literally the glue that holds together the lovely ceramic tile in floors, walls, and other spaces throughout your home. There are several options when it comes to choosing the right grout to complement your ceramic tile floor.
Just as ceramic tile comes in many different colors and textures, so does the grout that holds the tiles in place.
